“To choose doubt as a philosophy of life is akin to choosing immobility as a means of transportation.” – Yann Martel

You can’t change who you are at your core.  You can only work with what you have and improve upon what’s already there. It’s taken me 27 years to figure that out. I’m a work in progress.  I am and always will be myself.  Good and bad.

I am the mother of Silas.
The girlfriend of Seth.
The daughter of Thom & Jai VanGesen.
The sister of Jon, Heidi, & Jacob.
A resident of Port Townsend.
A product of Port Angeles.
An unapologetic fat girl.
ME.

I am fond of…
small spiral notebooks, sunshine, lovehandles, lace, earrings, pasta, graph paper, cooking, driving around, watching flocks of birds, pizza by the slice, legos, hungover breakfasts, DWELL, sandwiches cut into tiny triangles, Silas (my bigboycakes), creamy mashed potatoes, cottages, metal milk crates, moles, banjos and ukeleles, tape dispensers, leftover chinese food, ikea , white russians, owls, purses, freckles, used books, people watching, unibrows (sometimes).

I am not so fond of…
high heels, foo foo country decor, uggs, exhaustion, tapered jeans, gum under chairs, flesh colored nylons, mushrooms, cling wrap, the taste of pbr, dirty restrooms, homerow, playing pool, too much salt on fries, tribal tattoos, pushy old women, lumpy mashed potatoes, minivans, muddy slushy snow, red hot chili peppers, tap water, headaches, granny panties, feeling inferior, arguments, pens that are out of ink, mosquitoes, bad dreams, unibrows (sometimes).
